2 tuna steaks

4 tbsp sesame seeds

sesame oil

olive oil

3 cloves of garlic thinly sliced 

1 thumb size ginger finely chopped

2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

1/2 lemon

fresh coriander

spring onion 


1 -2 courgettes shaved 


  • to prepare a sauce in the small bowl mix soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger and 1 tbsp of sesame oil and set aside
  • place sesame seeds in a shallow dish,add tuna and turn around making sure it is nicely coated all over
  • heat little bit of olive oil and bit of sesame oil in the pan add garlic slices and fry until golden and crisp about  2 min
  • transfer garlic to a plate (don't discard the oil)
  • add tuna to the pan with garlicky oil and sear on each side 10-20 seconds then transfer to a plate
  • cut seared tuna into slices and place on top of shaved courgette, drizzle with asian dressing and sprinkle with fresh coriander, spring onion and chili
